Funerals & Bereavement
Everyone is entitled to a church funeral if they wish, regardless of whether they attended church or not. Please speak to your funeral director or one of our clergy for more information.
A Christian funeral acknowledges the closing of a human life on earth and the grief felt by those loved ones left behind, but it also speaks of the hope and faith that there is eternal life to be found through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the funeral service we will commend your loved one recently departed to the eternal love and care of our Heavenly Father.

If you are planning a church funeral for a loved one, a member of the ministry team will usually visit. They will be there to support the bereaved and will ask about the person who has died and what you might like to include in the funeral. We will do our best to accommodate any funeral plans you may already have for your loved one, or if you are unsure, then we can help you choose readings and hymns/songs and assist in any way we can.

All Souls Day

The commemoration of All Souls (all the Faithful Departed) falls on the 2nd November each year. We usually host a special service around this time which you would be very welcome to join us for. At this service we remember before God all those whom we have known and loved but see no longer. This service will include some hymns, a short reflection on the Bible and our hope of heaven as well as an opportunity to light a candle in memory of a loved one.
