SERVE

If you consider St Barnabas your spiritual home, then we encourage you to serve as we seek out God’s kingdom here in Northolt Park as it is in heaven. We are each wonderfully and uniquely made, and there are many different ways to serve at St Barnabas – what team might God be calling you to serve in?

Welcome Team

This team offers a warm welcome to all who come to St Barnabas. This includes welcoming people at the door as they come in, helping visitors to feel at home at St Barnabas and helping them to follow the service as well as answering any queries they may have.

Worship Team

This team helps us all as a church family to worship the Lord together on Sundays and at other special times throughout the year. There are a number of different ministries within this team:
Serving at the Altar – this includes processing in the Cross, preparing and holding the incense (thurible) and helping to set the Altar for Holy Communion.
Reading – reading from the Bible during our worship
Intercessions – preparing and leading prayers of intercession during our worship
Choir & Music – helping to lead our sung worship

Audio-Visual - helping to manage the sound and visual presentation during our times of worship.

Prayer Ministry Team

This team offers prayer ministry with others during our times of worship. They are also available to pray with those who request prayer at other times during our gatherings.

Café Team

This team helps to prepare and serve refreshments (Tea and Coffee etc) after our Sunday services, and to clear up afterwards.

Children's Ministry Team

This team runs our Children’s ministries and plays a particular role in teaching our younger church members about the Christian faith and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

All of our Children’s ministry team are safely recruited and will be required to complete some Safeguarding Training.

Governance

We have a team of trustees who sit on our Parochial Church Council (PCC). The PCC has oversight of all our church ministries and helps us to keep focused on how our church might serve God’s mission here. Our PCC is also entrusted stewards of all our church resources (finances and assets) and ensures that we are managing these in line with our church mission and values.

PCC members are elected at every APCM (Annual Parochial Church Meeting) held each spring. To serve on PCC you will need to have been on the Electoral Roll for at least six months.

Our PCC is supported by a number of subcommittees: Finance, Fabric (the Building and all its furnishings) and Fundraising (helping us to raise funds for the mission of the church).

Hidden Ministries

There are a number of more hidden ministries which aren't so visible but provide such a blessing to our church. These include:

Cleaning - a small team visit the church during the week to help keep it clean and tidy.

Flower Arranging - a small team create the wonderful flower displays we enjoy in church.

If you feel called to serve in any of these teams –
please speak to a member of these teams, Emily or a Churchwarden
